TREKKING TOUR PASO A PASO POR CUBA
Hike with us along the Lago Hanabanilla all the way to the splendid waterfalls of El Rocio where you will be able to visit a local coffee plantation Finca Codina. From here we continue hiking right to the Topes Collantes. We will explore the majestic landscapes of Cuerva Juana, beautiful pier of Playa Ancón in Trinidad where we shall stop for lunch and explore this cultural city of Cuba. To complete this tour, we will visit Valle de Ingenios before we catch a bus and return to Sancti Spiritus and finally to Havana.

Day 1: Arrival in Havana
Arrival at the Havana international airport. Transfer to the Hotel in Old Havana.
Day 2: Escambray
After breakfast we will drive towards Escambray, a spectacular mid-mountain landscape in central Cuba. On the way there, we stop at Santa Clara. We will pay a visit to the Mausoleum the most famous Latin American revolutionary, of Che Guevara and other fallen revolutionaries. Later on we will reach the reservoir Hanabanilla which is a popular destination and also supplies Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Santa Clara with energy. We will check into the hotel Hanabanilla for the night.
Day 3: Santa Clara - Parque Guanayara
After breakfast we go for a boat-ride on the lake Hanabanilla. After a picnic break on the “Salto de Rocio” waterfalls we will begin the first hike. In the afternoon, we shall arrive at Hacienda la Gallega where we can set up a camp and enjoy our dinner around the camp fire. Hike: about 12 km, medium difficulty
Day 4: Parque Codina
After breakfast, we start again on our next tour to Parque Codina. You will see many of the indigenous and endemic flora and fauna of the region on your hike. Dinner and accommodation in the tents at the Finca Codina. Hike 15 kms, medium difficulty.
Day 5: Topes de Collantes
Today’s tour will take us through the southern part of the Sierra del Escambray all the way to Topes de Collantes. En route we will stop for lunch at Salto de Caburni. After lunch we continue our tour on the “Vegas Grande” pathway. Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Los Helechos. Hike: 15 km, medium difficulty
Day 6: Topes de Collantes - Parque Cubano
We will board an old Russian truck and travel towards the landscapes of La Cuerva de Juana. From here, we continue to El Parque Cubano. In the evening we will set up a camp in time for dinner, and spend the overnight in tents. Hike: 12 km, medium difficulty
Day 7: Playa Ancon
Today will be spent on the water as we set out to Playa Ancon in Trinidad. Depending on the weather we will take a boat to Cayo Macho Afuera where you can snorkel and swim. If the weather isn't favorable then you will be guided through other excursions in the surrounding areas. We can either spend the overnight on the deck of the boat, or in tents on the island.
Day 8: Trinidad
In the morning we return to Trinidad. We will tour the World Heritage spot that is the old town with its pastel colored colonial houses.We will stay at the Hotel Finca María Dolores.
Day 9: Valle de los Ingenios - Havana
We will leave early in the morning for an excursion to the Valle de los Ingenios, the valley of the sugar mills. Here we shall visit the Manaca Iznaga ruin which used to be an old slaves’ tower, and learn a bit more about history of this region. Then, we walk across the sugar cane fields to a restaurant, where depending on the season, we might be able to taste local “jugo de canas” (sugar cane juice). The bus will pick us up and take us to Sancti Spiritus for lunch, and a short city tour. In the late afternoon, we will return to Havana in time for dinner and our overnight accommodation.
Day 10: Departure from Havana
Today is a free day and you can enjoy it before the transfer takes you to Havana airport in time for your flight back home, or to your next hotel depending on your holiday arrangements.
